ARRANGING A FUNERAL

As Funeral directors, we endeavour to provide the bereaved with full and fair information about all the services we can provide and information we can give.

Our service starts the moment you contact us, whether by phone or by calling personally.

The arrangements can be made either at our premises, or at home. After a time and place has been arranged that suits the family, we will discuss all aspects of the funeral arrangements and advise on the costs and charges to be made, culminating in a full written estimate.

We will arrange to convey the deceased from either Hospital, Residence or Nursing Home, so that they may lie at rest in our Chapel until the day of the Funeral; in the case of residence or Nursing home, we can only do this once the Doctor has given permission. This can be carried out when it is convenient to you, day or night. We have a selection of coffins from which you may choose. Usually we will place the deceased in a plain robe, but other clothing of your choice can be used, subject to regulations.

We will arrange for the hearse, (which carries the coffin and bearers) to travel either from the home of the deceased or some local residence to the funeral service, along with the limousine which will carry six mourners. In most cases we carry the coffin into the place of worship on the shoulders of the bearers, as this we believe is the ultimate in reverence and respect, and reflects our past traditions.

We will also arrange a person to officiate at the Funeral Service either of your own choice, or a local Minister. Newspaper announcements can be arranged through us, also flowers, or if you prefer we can collect donations for a chosen charity. If necessary catering can be arranged for a reception
